Users taking the next step in silent cooling may opt for a custom watercooling setup. The Silencio 450 includes rear retaining holes that support optional water cooling radiator installations. A switchable door hinge creates an added level of convenience as well. The iPhone 4S Has Landed, As Cool as Expected!

So much for critics saying the non-iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S would be ho-hum for Apple. As it turns out, not only has it broken just about every record there is in terms of sales and performance, but it's now officially in my very own hands! Oh yea, and Apple stocks got a boost today and closed at a record high.

I've been hearing a few scattered reports that some people how pre-ordered their iPhones through AT&T have gotten emails delaying their units, or cancelling altogether but I can't confirm that myself. I pre-ordered mine through AT&T and had zero issues with receiving it, and only the initial snafu that all carriers had in the early hours of the official pre-order day of Oct. 7th when what seemed like the entire world was trying to secure a unit at the same time.

Being that I'm coming from an iPhone 3GS, the new 4S is sooo much faster in every way possible. And the camera, just wow. We all knew the camera in the 3GS was absolute crap in all but ideal lighting, however the 4S's camera has been incredible in all light conditions so far. Not to mention snappy fast and raring to go. The retina display; gorgeous with super crisp text. It makes my 3GS's text look blurry.

The new iCloud features, as well as PhotoStream have worked flawlessly for me as well and are a nice, seamless addition to the mix. Speaking of iCloud, when I first fired up the iPhone 4S, I used the cloud exclusively to backup and restore the new phone with all my content and settings without every plugging it in. That was great and worked perfectly, although it was probably a bit slower than just plugging the phone into my iTunes.

So in closing, so far I'm loving the iPhone 4S. It feels incredibly well made and the iOS 5 runs beautifully.

It's Here! Download iOS 5 and iCloud Right Now!

Well it's finally here folks; iOS 5! I just got done spending hours trying to get it to install (after a fairly slow download) on my iPhone 3GS. Ironic too since I also got a FedEx tracking number today for my iPhone 4S that will be here soon (which is said to have iOS 5 pre-installed! Thanks!) Best of luck to everyone right now trying to get it to install. The main problem seems to be (or was earlier today) that so many people are upgrading to iOS 5 at the same time that the Apple servers are getting crushed! Don't forget to update your iTunes to the latest 10.5 that just came out before you bother with iOS 5.

Once downloaded, it probably took me about 15-18 tries to get it to finally get past the point right after extracting software, at the start of verifying iPhone to restore, or some facsimile of those words. It was so incredibly frustrating, but a quick Google search starting pulling up many more people having the same issue. The main culprit has been unknown error: 3200, and apparently that just means Apple's overloaded. Patience is the only factor to victory in this battle so stick with it and it will eventually go through.

Now with iOS 5 successfully installed and running smoothly, I can say it was worth it. There are many new features including a brand new notification center, iMessage, Newsstand, Reminders, Twitter, Camera Features, Photos, Safari, PC-Free and many many more!

After a few minutes with iOS 5, the first thing I noticed was that the iPod app is gone and replaced with two separate apps; one for Music and one for Video, similar to the iPad's setup. It's a little odd at first but I think once I get used to it, it'll feel natural. The notification center is far and away the most anticipated new feature and I can say that it doesn't disappoint! It feels like the iPhone has been freed finally. The quick launch camera app, by double tapping the home button when locked, is another great feature that I will use a ton. That brings me to the new PhotoStream feature in iCloud which will disperse all your new photos to all your iOS devices automatically and invisibly. That's it for now. Good luck!

Apple releases iTunes 10.5 with iTunes in the Cloud

Apple just released iTunes 10.5 to add a few new features that they've been touted for a little while now: iTunes in the cloud primarily. We've heard all the "cloud" talk over the past few months and now it's official in iTunes. This will allow you to download your songs on one device, say your laptop, and it'll automatically download to your iPhone in the background, completely invisibly. Pretty cool right? Heck yea. Requiring you to plug in your iPhone every time you wanted to sync a new song purchases from iTunes on your laptop was a pain in the ass. Now, if it would just work with where I actually buy all  my music; the Amazon MP3 store. I'd buy all my music from iTunes if it was cheaper, but 99.9% of the time it's $0.99 on Amazon and $1.29 on Amazon. That's like buy 3 get one free using Amazon. I'll take it.

Anyway, back on topic, if you're using iTunes, don't forget to keep your iTunes updated with this latest release. I just updated mine as I wait (im)patiently for my iPhone 4S!

Sharkoon Introduces the Vaya: Value Edition Case

Sharkoon Vaya: Value Edition with USB3.0 and Side Window

ATX Case Sharkoon Vaya Value: Designed in black with red front fan, and in white with blue front fan | MSRP 39.90 euros

In July, Sharkoon presented a competitive priced ATX case with the introduction of the 25 euro Sharkoon Vaya model. Now a Value Edition with a USB3.0 interface and side window is provided.

The Value Edition replaces one of the two USB2.0 ports on the standard design with a SuperSpeed USB3.0 interface. In lieu of the side air intake with pre-drilled air holes, the Value Edition offers a large acrylic side window, allowing insight into the PC while the internal illumination is benefiting operation. Sharkoon offers the Value Edition in two color versions: a black case with red LED front fan, and a white case with blue LED front fan.

The other specifications match the Standard design: The ATX case, with black exterior and interior finish, offers room for four 5.25" hard drives, four internal 3.5" hard drives, an external 3.5" hard drive and seven extension cards. The cooling capacity of the pre-installed, red illuminating 120 mm fan on the front panel can be further supported by installing an 80, 92 or 120 mm fan to the backside. Optical drives and hard drives are secured with the practical quick-locking clamps; the main board tray is equipped with a cooler mount opening and cable feedthrough. The power supply mount is attached to the bottom of the case. USB2.0 and USB3.0 ports are located together and easily accessible with the audio terminals, Power and Reset buttons on the case front. In the backside you will find two rubber-protected feedthroughs for water cooling tubes.

Apple Announces Steve Jobs has Passed Away

There are no words to express the impact that Steve Jobs has had on all our lives, even if you never bought an Apple product or seen a Pixar movie. He changed every other company that tried to compete with him as well. We have all benefited from his drive and passion on this earth to "see things differently". Thank you Mr. Jobs and now that your work is done, may you forever rest in peace. (1955 - 2011)

Sharkoon Introduces Two New Micro-ATX Cases

Sharkoon MS120/MS140 mATX: USB3.0 port, space for up to 36 cm long graphic cards and efficient cooling | MSRP starting at 29.90 euros

Sharkoon introduces two micro-ATX cases, which despite its compact form factor, can contain graphic cards up to 36 cm in length: The Sharkoon MS120 mATX and the Sharkoon 140 mATX are especially aimed at gamers who are looking for a handy companion at LAN parties and at the same time not wanting to miss out on extra-long graphics power.

The two black finished cases differ in their front fan configurations: The MS120 is equipped with two blue illuminating 120 mm front fans behind a mesh insert. The MS140 instead features a blue illuminating 140 mm front fan. The MS120 is a little taller at 375 mm than the MS140 at 368 mm.

In addition, the functionality of both is the same: Both cases contain auxiliary audio and three USB2.0 ports, and a SuperSpeed USB3.0 port on the front of the I/O panel. Inside contains an optical drive, an externally accessible 3.5 inch drive and four extension card slots, and up to four 3.5 inch hard drives or up to six 2.5 inch hard drives or SSDs. The data mediums are inserted lengthwise within the two suspended mounting panels. On both panels, either two 3.5 inch hard drives can be decoupled installed or three 2.5 inch drives can be firmly attached. If necessary, one of the two panels can be removed to make room for the up to 36 cm long graphic card; thus comfortably accommodating high-end models, such as the Nvidias GeForce GTX590 or AMDs Radeon 6990. As a trade-off for the removable panel, an additional hard drive bracket is added to the base area.

Editorial: Apple Introduces the iPhone 4S (and little else)

Apple iPhone 4S
So yesterday was the day all the Apple fanboys have been anticipating for 16 months now (including me) and to say it was a bit disappointing is an understatement. My story is probably not unlike many of you guys out there when it comes to the iPhone. Personally I have an iPhone 3GS that I got in Feb 2010 (finally caved to the Apple machine). Here in Morgantown, West Virginia, the AT&T in the area had just upgraded to 3G (from EDGE) to better make use of the iPhone so I decided to take the plunge mere months before the iPhone 4 launch. I became addicted to the usability of the iPhone virtually overnight and haven't looked at another phone since. Once you get embedded into the Cult of Apple, it's nearly inescapable.

Once the iPhone 4 launched, I almost bit the bullet and paid big bucks to buy/upgrade to the iPhone only months into my contract. That's when AntennaGate dropped into full swing. That put the brakes on that deal so I've been toughing it out with my 3GS for about a year and half now, all the while seeing the much nicer iPhone 4 take over the world with it's far superior camera, speed, flash, design, etc etc etc. Still, I've held off in hopes the iPhone 5 drop in the Summer of 2011 would be the upgrade of all upgrades.

As the Summer of 2011 approaches, the chatter begins that there won't be a new iPhone yet, maybe September, and everyone will just have to hold on a bit longer. "UGH!" says me. Waiting....and waiting...August comes and so do the rumors and speculation. iPhone 5 cases, spy shots, etc etc. I'm on the edge of my seat extending my neck for every drip of information like raindrops falling from the sky. Then the rumors start backtracking...no iPhone 5, only 4(s) maybe?! One iPhone, two iPhones!? Who the hell knows!? It was driving me and everyone else following this tale absolutely bonkers. I had visions of a 4" retina display saddled to a new revolutionary design to take the world by storm once again.

Apple to Launch iCloud on October 12

Breakthrough Set of Free Cloud Services Includes iTunes in the Cloud, Photo Stream & Documents in the Cloud

CUPERTINO, California―October 4, 2011―Apple® today announced that iCloud®, a breakthrough set of free cloud services, including iTunes® in the Cloud, Photo Stream and Documents in the Cloud, that work seamlessly with your iPhone®, iPad®, iPod touch®, Mac® or PC to automatically and wirelessly store your content in iCloud and push it to all your devices, will be available on October 12. iCloud stores your music, photos, apps, contacts, calendars, documents and more, keeping them up to date across all your devices. When content changes on one device, all your other devices are updated automatically and wirelessly.

“iCloud is the easiest way to manage your content, because iCloud does it all for you and goes far beyond anything available today,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “You don't have to think about syncing your devices, because it happens automatically, and it is free.”

iTunes in the Cloud lets you automatically download new music purchases to all your devices, so you can buy a song on your iPad and find it waiting for you on your iPhone―no syncing required. iTunes in the Cloud also lets you download your previously purchased iTunes content, including music and TV shows to your devices at no additional cost.* Since iCloud stores your previously purchased iTunes history, you can see what you’ve bought no matter which device you bought it on, and since you already own the content, you can play it on your devices or simply tap the iCloud icon to download it to store and play later.
