Introduction:
Portable media is all the rage nowadays and it just keeps getting bigger and smaller. Errr, what I mean by that is the capacity of these smaller drives is now larger than ever. Sigh. Corsair has raised the capacities of it's Flash Voyager GT Series USB flash drives up to a whopping 128GB! That's about 250x the size of my first hard drive, well before flash drives were ever invented! It's amazing how far technology has come in a dozen years or so. Here's looking to the next dozen *cheers* What I have for you guys today is the 32GB Flash Voyager GT USB Flash Drive from Corsair. Let's take a closer look at it. Overview:
Packaging: The Flash Voyager GT comes in the typical clear plastic be-careful-not-to-cut-your-face-off coffin packaging. I long for the day that all companies will utilize a frustration-free delivery system to it's end users. Otherwise though, it's a high quality package that protects the product from nuclear war and aliens attacks. Bury one of these in your backyard and it could probably be excavated 1000 years from now in perfect condition. A Closer Look: The completely rubberized body of the Corsair Flash Voyager is truly what sets it spart from the crowd. Not to mention the bright colors and such. Although the capacities continue to improve, the design hasn't changed much since back in 2006 since I reviewed the regular 8GB Flash Voyager. That's probably because it's darn near perfect, at least in my opinion. The only improvement I could even wish for is some type of containment method for the cap when it's removed.
Corsair made a smart move including a lanyard and braided USB cable with their Voyager models. It's yet another thing that sets them apart from the crowded flash drive market. << Back to VH FrontPage | Installation & Testing >>
